The Norfolk International port is set to receive $217 million of new cranes as part of a $350 million expansion. Panjiva data shows it has already been growing rapidly, with a 15% increase in imports handled in TEUs in October vs. a year earlier. The investment may increase capacity by 46%, which over the past 12 month would equate to the port handling 138,000 TEUs a month moving it to sixth place among America’s ports ahead of South Houston.
