Japanese shipper NYK is acquiring 20% of the Maher terminal in New Jersey. The stake in the three million TEU-per-year facility will add to cargo terminal assets in eight other U.S. locations. This may become a regulatory concern as NYK completes its container business merger with Mitsui OSK and K-Line. The three between them will have assets in all but two of the top 15 ports in the United States.
