One year on it’s time to look two years back as China sustains trade growth

China’s international trade in goods jumped 41.2% higher year over year in January and February combined. In part that’s due to the impact of COVID-19 related closures in 2020. When compared to the same period of 2019 there was growth of 25.6%, including a 32.8% rise in exports. The surge in exports in turn has been led by shipments of computers and electronics circuits which have climbed by 54.5% and 42.5% respectively in the first two months of 2021 compared to 2019.
