Container handling through California’s big three ports climbed 6% on a year earlier in June, led by Long Beach’s 14% surge which led Los Angeles once again. An 8% rise in inbound volumes can be easily pinned on pre-tariff shipment surges from China. Yet, volumes only increased 5% on a year earlier from 2% in May. There will nonetheless likely be a slowdown given China accounted for 59% of inbound volumes in the past 12 months.
