Puget Sound Slips as Seattle Surrenders Chinese Share

Container handling in Puget Sound fell 1% in February, according to Northwest Seaport Alliance data. The reduction came from a 4% fall in international imports and 7% drop in exports of full containers. It was only increased transport of empty containers and domestic shipments that prevented a larger fall. The drop in imports was the result of a 15% slide in handling over the three months to February 28 of exports from China to Seattle.
