Container handling through Canada’s big three ports climbed 22% on a year earlier in September to reach 516,506 TEUs. That was greatest since at least 2013. Montreal’s 30% expansion was driven by export growth, whereas Prince Rupert and Vancouver both saw imports beat exports. Prince Rupert’s 38% surge is the result of a capacity expansion from DP World, while Vancouver actually saw a 6% drop in exports.
