Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) demand in Asia is proving slow to recover after COVID-19, leading to cancellations of 40 to 45 deliveries from U.S. exporters in August, a similar number to that seen in July. The sector was already struggling. While U.S. LNG exports climbed 71.0% higher in April compared to a year earlier they are down 18.6% from their November peak. A jump in exports to China, linked to the phase 1 trade deal, has been offset by reduced shipments to Mexico.
