Container handling through South Africa’s ports climbed 9% on a year earlier in September, the eighth month of improvements this year. Import handling jumped 19% to reach the highest since at least 2013, with coastal water shipping providing much of the growth. International exports fell 5% – the first decline since April. That suggests weaker deliveries of agricultural or automotive products, the biggest non-commodity export lines for the country.
