The members of THE Alliance (Hapag-Lloyd, ONE and Yang Ming) will move four Transatlantic services to Hamburg rather than Bremerhaven. That follows an extensive range of route realignments across the Atlantic by members of all three container-line alliances this year. The move could prove to be a major problem for Bremerhaven as its volumes had already fallen 10% to 5.5 million TEUs over the past five years.
