DP World Caution After Slow Quarter Precedes Reality of Protectionism

The Chairman of DP World, Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, sees 2017 being “another challenging year for global trade”. That follows the group increasing its handling by just 1% for the fourth quarter on a year earlier, resulting from a 1% contraction in its Middle East / Africa ports. That compares to global trade growth of 2% and an Africa / Middle East rise of 5%.
