The EU’s external merchandise trade activity dipped 3.3% lower year over year in February, marking a 14th straight decline. Waning trade with the U.K. resulting from Brexit is a significant contributor with a 22.0% slide in bilateral trade. The EU’s exporters are still doing “better” than their U.K. counterparts. Exports to the U.K. were down by 14.5% while its imports from the U.K. fell by 34.0% with asymmetric border rules being one reason.
