FedEx, Dell and Switch have partnered to build a series of datacenters in the U.S. to provide low-latency edge computing networks. FedEx is the first customer and will provide real estate. Data from 451 Research shows 62% of firms are processing Internet of Things data at an edge location compared to 45% three years ago, with six out of 10 using a third party cloud provider.
