The Mercosur trade group want to complete a trade agreement with the EU in October, DPA reports. Putting aside internal wrangling, it’s not clear there is an urgency to do a deal among all members. Brazil’s export shipments to the EU increased 2% in July, though growth remains slow. Paraguay and Uruguay both experienced double digit growth in the past quarter. It may therefore be Argentina, whose trade dropped 17.5% in July, and Venezuela that drive the process.
