Mexico’s international trade extended its growth streak to a 12th month in April after rising 19% on a year earlier. Export growth of 17% has been unmatched since July 2011 in part due to higher oil prices, though underlying export growth was still 15%. A 37% surge in exports of steel products may represent a bid to beat U.S. section 232 duties, due to take effect from June 1.
