The Chinese shipbuilding industry’s orderbook continues to fall. Despite an increase in new order to 650,000 dwt in September from 190,000 in August the overall order book still fell to its lowest since June 2013. A 3% reduction in deliveries meant the remaining order book stands at 39 months of work. Panjiva data shows that China’s total export earnings from shipbuilding fell 18% in the first eight months of the year to $8.5 billion.
