The U.S. has applied anti-dumping duties on residential washing machine imports from China, and while the ITC has yet to make a final determination there are already apparent shifts in supply chains. Chinese exports to the U.S. increased 21% in the 12 months through October 31, but had fallen 36% in the past three months on a year earlier. Imports from Thailand and Vietnam, which were previously negligible, jumped to 38% of total U.S. imports in October.
